Why For The Pause Exists
I entered peri-menopause in my late 30s, and surgical menopause in my early 40s after years of living with endometriosis.
I created For The Pause to offer what I needed then; knowledge about what’s happening to my body and brain, a way to find the right medical professionals, science-based tools and exercises to help me feel better, and a space to connect with others who are going through the same thing. Plus, I really needed reassurance that I wasn’t losing my mind, my memory and my way of life.
For The Pause exists to:
share the latest menopause science and research in a clear, unbiased way to help people learn about what’s happening with their bodies and learn how to navigate the healthcare system
share Positive Psychology techniques and tools to support every stage of menopause
provide specialist support with Yoga & Meditation to reduce stress, increase interoception & self-compassion and manage peri & menopause symptoms at every stage
Please note that I am not a Medical Doctor. I simply research and compile all the latest information from leading health studies and leading Physicians, and share it in a consise, simple to understand, and sometimes fun way. I share a toolkit of how to navigate the medical system, and have created a directory recommended and fully qualified General Practitioners, Specialists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Exercise Physiologists, Nutritionists, Naturopaths and other specialist health practitioners to support people in finding the best outcomes for them.
The purpose of For The Pause is to empower people with knowledge about their own bodies and information they need to navigate their own Menopause. All of this information is available in books, white papers & podcasts. I offer evidence-based support through Positive Psychology & Yoga. I am a qualified, trauma informed, Mental Health Aware Yoga Teacher and Menopause Yoga Teacher, and a qualified Positive Psychology Practitioner and Coach, and a member of the International Menopause Society.
